Nathaniel
Lester
Canarsie
Nathaniel Lester
(Nat) is entering in his 3rd year as a varsity
starter. His stats have improved each year, as a
freshman he averaged 8 points per game, as a sophomore
he averaged 23 points and 10 rebounds. He has propelled
himself into one of the top players in New York City.
While playing in the tough New York City PSAL Division,
his team took 2nd place, with a 10-3 league record. For
a stretch of his sophomore season, Nat lead the Canarsie
Chiefs to a 10-1 record, while averaging 34 points per
game. He scored a career high of 51 points during a
tournament in Connecticut. Nat, "the silent assassin"
can kill a team by dropping 30 points without them even
knowing it. He has shown his ability to score many ways,
he can shoot the three, he has an excellent midrange
shot, and he won't hesitate to throw it down on
someone.
Nat demonstrates outstanding footwork, that allows him
to get to the basket and draw fouls. This was evident
last season, as he was in the top 5 PSAL players in free
throw attempts, shooting 76% from the free throw
line. Nathaniel had a great summer basketball
experience, one of two sophomores on the Panthers A
team, participation in camps and tournaments throughout
the summer. He expected to have an exciting year.

Brian
Hutchinson
Brian Is a 6'5 220
lb forward from Elmont Memorial High School. Last season as
a sophomore he averaged 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks
a game playing Varsity basketball. In the Spring he traveled
with the Long Island Lightning. He was named to the
prestigious Gym Rat All - Tournament team in Albany. He was
also named a Nassau County All-Star for 2005. The strongest
part of Brian's game is his finesse. He uses it to get to
the basket easily. Brian admits his defense is his weak
suit, but he also is a hard worker and has rapidly improved
as a defender over the last 6 months. Brian's basketball
goal is to receive a full scholarship to a D1 school. He
will be looking to break out this year in the Nassau County
Class AA division. He will be Elmont's number 1 option as
the team enters the school year with high expectations.

Coach
Ken Parham
After scoring 703 points for Bay Shore and
going on to a stellar career at Dowling, Ken Parham has been a
formidable presence on the sidelines for the Marauders ever since.
He resurrected a fading Girl's program by taking them to back to
back Final Four appearances in 1995 and 96. Ken switched over top
the Boys in 1997 and the success has followed him. Under his intense
scrutiny and guidance, Ken's teams have reached the Large School
Finals in Suffolk County in four of the past nine seasons. Despite
graduating nine seniors last year, his goal is to make it 5 in 10.
His trademark up tempo offense and full court man to man defense are
unmistakable. His tireless year round approach as well as his
competitive edge have kept Bay Shore as a force to be reckoned with
each year of his tenure. Coach Parham's many
accolades and accomplishments are highlighted by the following:

Coach
Ron Naclerio
Coach Ron Naclerio is New
York City’s real life version of the White Shadow. In the Big
Apple, he cares for all its hoopsters like Father Flanagan.
Given the nickname “The Teacher” at legendary Rucker Park, he is
the most recognizable white face in its many deprived
neighborhoods.
He has coached the boy’s
varsity basketball team at Benjamin Cardozo High School (Queens,
N.Y.C.) for twenty eight years, twenty five as head coach..
During his tenure, Cardoza HS has won over five hundred games
with twenty five play-off appearances; including finishing in
the Elite Eight eleven times, Final Four seven times, and with
two City Championships.
Coach Naclerio has dedicated
himself not only to high school basketball, but continues to
work with many college and N.B.A. players who regularly beckon.
Considered one of the best individual instructional coaches in
the nation, he has helped many players get to the N.B.A. and
overseas. He has helped more than six hundred players get into
college over his years, including 106 from the Bayside School as
well as helping some of the more needy and troubled players just
to get off the streets.
Coach Naclerio played JV
basketball and Varsity baseball at St. John’s University, where
he helped them to a 1978 appearance in the College World Series
and led the nation in stolen bases in 1979. He was selected by
the Chicago White Sox in the 1979 Major League Baseball draft
and spent three seasons in the minor leagues before a series of
ankle injuries forced him to quit baseball in 1982.
He has co-authored a book
with John Valenti entitled “Sweet Pea and Other Playground
Legends – Tales of Drugs, Violence, and Basketball.” The book
was selected for inclusion in the Basketball Hall of Fame
library in Springfield, Massachusetts. Ron is also the associate
editor of Hoops Group as well as co-host of the weekly online
radio show. He was featured on segments of TNT’s documentary,
“On Hallowed Ground” about Rucker Park, as well as MTV’s version
of the famous Harlem court.
Ron received recognition as
the 2002 NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches)
Guardians of the Game Service Award, along with John Wooden
(Education) and Dave Gavitt (Leadership) He is the only high
school coach to receive a Guardians of the Game award. He was
selected by the St. Louis-Post Dispatch (4/1/05) on the list of
their power fifty Who’s Who of College Basketball, and was
included in the 2005 edition of Who’s Who Among America’s
Teachers.
Coach Naclerio attributes his
trait of helping others to his father, the late Dr. Emil
Naclerio. Dr. Naclerio was a renowned heart and lung surgeon as
well as a pioneer in pacemakers. He once saved the life of Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr., when the civil rights leader was stabbed
in 1958. Ron treasures a letter Dr. King wrote to his father.

Coach
Michael Ryan
In his third year as
Head Coach of the St. Anthony’s Friars in South Huntington Long
Island, Mike led the Friars to the New York State Federation
Championship last season. In his three years he has compiled a
record of 56-21 and earned Coach of the Year honors in the
Nassau/Suffolk Catholic League in his second year and Suffolk
County Coach of the year this past season, as chosen by
Newsday. Mike credits his success thus far to his coaching
staff, support from the St. Anthony’s
Administration and, of course, the players. It is his hope that
St. Anthony’s will continue to build a program that will be able
to compete with the growing competition that Long Island
basketball has to offer. He is thankful that Coach Ken Parham
asked him to contribute to this event and looks forward to an
exciting game vs. the kids from NYC.
