THE HOWIE FRAJBERG MEDICAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION

 

 

It is a game greatly anticipated by all hoops fans in the Metro NY area.  Loaded with talent, both regions will do battle to prove who are the “Kings & Queens of the Court” in Metropolitan New York.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26th

Howie Frajberg MVP Award for boys

The MVP award for the boys game is named for Howie Frajberg, Coach, Fan, Player and longtime advocate for basketball of all levels in the Metro NY area.

 

Joseph C. Smith MVP Award for girls

The MVP award for the girls game is named for Joseph C. Smith, a pioneer in journalism in women's basketball.

 

The awards will be given out following the end of each game as voted on by the media covering the game.

 

Outstanding Achievement Award - Vincent Cannizzaro

Coach C as many call him is the architect of THE best girls High School basketball program of all time in the USA.  His record of National HS titles, Federation titles, State CHSAA titles and Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA titles most likely will never be surpassed.  Recently inducted into the NY State Basketball Hall of Fame, Coach Cannizzaro continues to influence the game today as a top scout and evaluator and mentor to today's coaches and players.

12 NOON - GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL BENEFIT GAME

3:30 PM - BOYS HIGH SCHOOL BENEFIT GAME

ISLAND GARDEN BASKETBALL ARENA

ADMISSION:  $10 - Girls Game / $10 Boys Game

 

Two Game Admission:  $15

Note:  There will be time between games for fans to visit local restaurants/eating places for lunch.  Island Garden Arena is conveniently located within walking distance of a host of restarurants and eating places.
